I went out and bought Maschine JAM to go with my Kontrol 49 and Maschine MK2.
The JAM really adds a lot for control of mixing and the step sequencer is good fun, although I am very manual about my note placement so I use the JAM as a quick idea interface.
I also picked up a Zoom H5 mobile recording device and an additional microphone head unit. My plan is to record a lot of in the field sounds and for them to end up as samples in my next phase of music.
